Q&A

Who are candidates for a HeadStyl ™ ?

Answer:

Those who have a receding hairline or suffering from male patent baldness.

People who would like to give the impression of even thicker hair after transplants.

People wanting to cover scars from accidents or transplants (keloids being the exception).

Will your new HeadStyl look natural?

Answer:

Your new HeadStyl ™ will look very natural, the colours are matched to your tones and your headstylist should help you choose a style to your liking.

Make sure that the person doing your treatment has sufficient training, this is very specialised work.

Does it fade over years?

Answer:

This treatment will fade over time as it is semi-permanent. If you follow the after care procedures carefully for the first 10 days after treatment and always use sun tan lotion on your head there is no reason why this treatment wont last for years, depending on how dark the colours were that were used.

The darker the colours the longer it lasts.

Is this a one time procedure?

Answer:

No, most treatments take 2-3 sessions to complete, 1-2 sessions initially and then a follow up treatment after a month to fill in any areas.

After which it’s up to you if when you would like more shading or new style.

How much does this cost?

Answer:

The cost of this treatment is on an individual basis depending on if its scar coverage or a larger area to cover.

A consultation can be done face to face or via email once photos have been provided.

What is After Care?

Answer:

  • The tattoo will lighten over a 2 week period, and the full results of your Headstyl can be seen in 4 weeks. At this time, you will come back for your second treatment.
  • Do not rub the treated skin or get any chemicals on the area until it is healed, at least 10 days.
  • Do not pick or scratch tattooed area.
  • Do not wear makeup, or colour your hair for 2 weeks.
  •  Avoid harsh chemicals or Retin A, this may cause the colour to fade or discolour.
  • Stay out of chlorinated pools, sun beds for at least 1 week.
  • Do not use antibiotic ointment.
  • Do not be exposed to the sun without high sun block.
  • Do not do anything to cause sweating for 10 days after treatments, that includes hot showers, Jacuzzi’s, go to the gym or use any thick creams on your head that may cause the pores to be blocked and therefore sweat.

*Do not scrub your head for 10 days .

Do I need to shave my head?

Answer:

It depends on what you want to achieve. If you are wanting to hide a hair transplant scar, or head scar, and are using makeup, there is no reason to shave your head. If you are looking to hide bald spots and do not have scars, you would want to keep it short. If you have had a hair transplant, and wish to enhance an area, you would not need to shave. It is best to email a photo, or call to discuss your goals, and we inform you on an individual basis.

Is your new HeadStyl a tattoo?

Answer:

No your new HeadStyl ™ is not a tattoo, we use semi-permanent inks and micropigmentation equipment.

(Some people do use tattoo machines and pigments and both work equally well if in the hands of an experienced technician).
